Francois Du Toit | The Mirror Bible
I am often asked what I am reading. Over the last year, I could have answered with many amazing books like McVey’s Beyond an Angry God, Vallotton’s, Destined to Win or McKee’s, Story, but I have given one reply, The Mirror Bible.
I have spent many mornings laughing and crying my way through the thrilling gospel of Jesus written down by my new friend Francois Du Toit.
Francois breathtaking paraphrase translation and brilliant commentary on the New Testament has been a constant empowering companion. The revelation of God’s grace is stunning and pure. The scriptures insight into my oneness with Christ is transformational!
We are co-revealed in Christ! Co-crucified, co-included in His death and resurrection, co-buried, co-quickened, co- alive, co-seated “with Him in His executive authority in the Throne Room of the heavenly realm” (Eph. 2:6 Col 1:1-4 The Mirror).
I recommend the Mirror translation to anyone with a heartbeat. Blessings!

The Mirror translation is a Blasphemous joke and I pray for the salvation of Francois and all who have been deceived by his teachings. While very appropriately named as it deifies man and asks the reader to merely understand that you are already a good person, needing nothing more than to “realize” they are a good person to be in God’s good graces. Stick with the the KJV bible for accuracy, if you struggle with its High Late Medieval English, use a modern version to help you understand its words. Long story short Man is a FALLEN creature who needs Christ to Save him. Man is DEAD in his sins, Blind to all goodness and it is only through the works of God that man is drawn to him so that Christ’s righteousness may be counted towards him. Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. incase you become confused with corrupted scripture.
Hey Joel, do we know each other? I have a lot of Joels in my life 🙂
Thanks for your thoughts. Praying joy and grace and wonder over you today!
I know well the gospel you are preaching. I grew up in its shadow.
I imagine you and I can agree that salvation is discovered in and through Jesus and what He did on the cross.
But I think we disagree regarding what Jesus revealed at the cross; that all creation was being reconciled in Christ (see 2 Cor 5:19). I think we disagree regarding how finished Christ’s work was, the goodness of our Father, and how inclusive the gospel of salvation is.
I’m not gonna try and twist your arm into valuing different translations, I trust Holy Spirit in you.
Personally, I love the KJ, the NKJ, the NIV and more. And also, I love most paraphrase bibles, especially The Mirror Bible. I have discovered Jesus in all of them.
I pray the love of God chases you down, I pray that you would discover that neither death nor life, nor angels or devils, that nothing can separate you from His great affection.
Bless ya man
Jason
