LEAVING & FINDING JESUS
With grace and humor, Jason juxtaposes an inclusive, reconciling, self-giving, unconditional view of God’s love against an excluding, hierarchal, punishment-focused, conditional view of God’s love.
Jason introduces the book he is currently working on, Leaving (& Finding) Jesus, which challenges readers to stop building their faith upon the broken foundations of a transactional view of God, and instead, embrace the powerful understanding of reconciliation and self-giving love that truly transforms our lives and our world.
QUOTES
“God removed the veil, literally, figuratively, metaphorically; every veil that man’s fallen understanding, our religion of good and evil has put in place, every us and them, for or against, sin conscious veil of separation has been removed. Nothing separates us from the reconciling love of God!”
“We are either moving toward exclusion or inclusion.”
“We need to be having conversations about sin that are not sin conscious.”
“What would the world look like if sons and daughters operated in reconciling love, not counting people’s sins against them, not counting their broken ideologies, their actions against them…:

Seven Reasons Why I Don’t Belong to a Political Party
I wrote this article in 2016; still true…
So many in our nation today feel disenfranchised.
So many are like orphans searching for a family, a place to belong. And in this particular season, so many have found their sense of belonging and even identity in a political party or persona.
But those of us who have said yes to God, we joined a family. Orphans no longer, we found our belonging in Christ. We are fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, brothers, and sisters, one family.
Before Jesus ascended to heaven He said, “I pray that you are one…(John 17:21)” It was His last will and testament that we would discover what it is to be family, what it is to choose love above all else.
We are not disenfranchised, we are becoming one.
In this highly charged political season of us and them, we must not find our belonging or identity in a political party or persona. Otherwise, we become lost.
We don’t belong to a political party, we belong to the family of God. Belonging is the gift our Father has given us through Jesus. This truth sets us free to vote our conscience; it also empowers us to let others vote theirs. And we don’t have to agree because it’s way better than that, we are family.
We are never meant to get our sense of belonging or identity from a political party and here are seven reasons why…
1 – A political party says, “You belong because you agree with me.”
The family of God says, “You belong because we are family, we share the same Father.”
2 – A political party says, “I will bully, shame, or manipulate you into voting the party line.”
The family of God says, “You are free to vote your conscience.”
3 – A political party says, “I will pressure you to minimize your party’s sin as the lesser of two evils for the greater good.”
The family of God says, “I will encourage you to confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” (James 5:16)
4 – A political party says, “I will pressure you to justify or defend unrighteousness and ignorance.”
The family of God says, “I will challenge you to stand for righteousness by speaking the truth in love….” (Eph 4:15)
5 – A political party says, “Regarding how we communicate with one another, the ends justifies the means”
The family of God says, “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” (Eph 4:2)
6 – A political party says, “I will leverage tragedy to manipulate voters.”
The family of God says, “I will weep with those who weep.” (Rom 12:15)
7 – A political party says, “God has one perspective; mine.”
The family of God says, “God has one perspective; love.” (1 John 4:8)
I don’t belong to a political party; I belong to a family, so do you.

REPENT, THE KINGDOM IS WITHIN YOU!
Jason speaks from his backyard to Destiny Christian Fellowship in Madison WI during the self-quarantining days of April 2020. As the Corona Virus is sweeping across the land, this is a time for believers to live confident in love as giants in the faith. Jason invites us to repent and think as God thinks.
Repenting isn’t a heavy burden, a 24-hour wailing session focused on our brokenness, and poverty, and need, and sin. Repenting is a 2 min, 4 min, 24 min, 24 hours, 240 days and on and on revelation and agreement of our Father’s perspective in which we lay our burdens down, we exchange brokenness for righteousness, poverty for hope, peace, and joy; and sin for wholeness.
Repenting is the gift Jesus gave us to live confident as sons and daughters in His love on earth as it is in heaven.
This message is an invitation to grow sure in His affection and live confident in His love today!

OFFENDED BY GOD’S GOODNESS
Jason speaks on the offensively good news. The Love of God. He speaks on the measureless revelation of love, how love is beyond our ability to comprehend, how love exists beyond time and space, how love continually is better than our understanding and invites us to repent, be set free and grow in love.
This message was given in February 2020 at The Gate Church
…Jesus was constantly revealing God as better than our understanding. He kept doing things God wouldn’t seem to do.
He healed people on the Sabbath, something God wouldn’t do.
He ministered to children in a way that was better than how God would do it.
He interacted with women in a way that was better than how God would do it.
Same with gentiles and even gentile women!
He didn’t call down fire on that village even though His disciples believed it was what God would do. They had Biblical reason.
He didn’t punish that woman caught in adultery even though everyone knew that’s what God would do. It also could be backed by Scripture.
Jesus constantly did things that were way better than how God would do them. Even better than what the Bible said God would do. And all along the way, He offended people with how good He believed God was.
Humanity had God boxes and Jesus kept blowing them up.
And nothing has changed.
He keeps revealing that He is better than our understanding, even better than many of our Biblical interpretations.
We all have God boxes, but thankfully, He won’t stay in them.
It’s the goodness of God that leads us to change the way we think. It’s a revelation of His kindness that causes us to repent; that leads to a renewed mind. And we are transformed as our minds are renewed.
He is good, often offensively so. And I’m learning that to grow, to be transformed, I must be willing to be offended by how good He is. I must be willing to let His kindness blow up my God boxes.
Because I’ve discovered that His goodness is what leads me to repentance and this is where I am transformed and become more like Him…

Francois Du Toit | The Mirror Bible
I am often asked what I am reading. Over the last year, I could have answered with many amazing books like McVey’s Beyond an Angry God, Vallotton’s, Destined to Win or McKee’s, Story, but I have given one reply, The Mirror Bible.
I have spent many mornings laughing and crying my way through the thrilling gospel of Jesus written down by my new friend Francois Du Toit.
Francois breathtaking paraphrase translation and brilliant commentary on the New Testament has been a constant empowering companion. The revelation of God’s grace is stunning and pure. The scriptures insight into my oneness with Christ is transformational!
We are co-revealed in Christ! Co-crucified, co-included in His death and resurrection, co-buried, co-quickened, co- alive, co-seated “with Him in His executive authority in the Throne Room of the heavenly realm” (Eph. 2:6 Col 1:1-4 The Mirror).
I recommend the Mirror translation to anyone with a heartbeat. Blessings!
